The Ludacris Foundation, Fund II Foundation, and Dr. Jamelle McKenzie celebrated mothers and families by hosting a special Mother's Day experience for the metro Atlanta community. The event took place on Saturday, May 9, at the Georgia International Convention Center and brought together families for a day centered on wellness, appreciation, and connection.
The Mother's Day celebration honored the love, sacrifices, strength, and care that mothers provide to their children, families, and communities every day.
"A day of recognition that women and mothers are the backbone of our families, communities, and society at large," said Roberta Shields.
"At a time when the state of Georgia continues to face serious maternal health challenges, especially among Black women, partnering with Fund II Foundation is both meaningful and necessary," Shields added.
"Mother's Day weekend is a time to celebrate moms, but it is also a reminder of how important it is to support them year-round. In Georgia, too many mothers continue to face preventable health risks," said Linda Wilson.
"For us, this event was about creating a space where moms feel supported, cared for, and connected," said Dominique Young-Smith. "The event accomplished that and more."
More than 150 families were connected to maternal wellness resources, community organizations, and support services during the celebration, creating a meaningful day focused on uplifting and empowering mothers throughout the metro Atlanta area.
