    The Ludacris Foundation, Fund II Foundation, and Dr. Jamelle McKenzie celebrated mothers and families by hosting a special Mother's Day experience for the metro Atlanta community. The event took place on Saturday, May 9, at the Georgia International Convention Center and brought together families for a day centered on wellness, appreciation, and connection. The Mother's Day celebration honored the love, sacrifices, strength, and care that mothers provide to their children, families, and communities every day. "A day of recognition that women and mothers are the backbone of our families, communities, and society at large," said Roberta Shields. "At a time when the state of Georgia continues to face serious maternal health challenges, especially among Black women, partnering with Fund II Foundation is both meaningful and necessary," Shields added. "Mother's Day weekend is a time to celebrate moms, but it is also a reminder of how important it is to support them year-round. United Way of Greater Atlanta Young Professional Leaders (YPL) has recognized Efner Pierre as an Emerging Leader during YPL's Night for a Brighter Tomorrow event for the many contribution he has made in working with The Ludacris Foundation and Atlanta communities.  "I am honored and grateful to be recognized. The reason why I volunteer is because I want to give back to a community that gave back to me. When I was younger, the same impact United Way had that helped enhance the life of students for a better future is the same impact that was a result of me.
