Fourth Annual Drive, Putt & Chip Rising Stars Event
July 1, 2025
| July 1, 2025
The Ludacris Foundation hosted over one hundred youth at the 4th Annual Drive, Putt & Chip Rising Stars golf event. Attendees between the ages of seven and seventeen joined the foundation at the Historic College Park Golf Course. PGA professionals, College Park Golf Course Marshalls, and experienced golfers gathered with The Ludacris Foundation team to support the event. College Park Mayor Pro-Tem Jamelle McKenzie assisted with checking in participants and greeted the large crowd of one hundred attendees before the start of the event. The Ludacris Foundation Present Roberta Shields ecstatically thanked all of the families and participants for joining a day full of amusement and gratification. Food vendors were on hand and included Waffle Bar by Waffle Chicks and Shaved Ice by Kona Ice.
The exhilarating event brought out young people from all over Metro Atlanta, including two teens who rank as top players in the state. Exposure can yield endless opportunities, and Drive, Putt & Chip was a phenomenal example. Attendees enjoyed the opportunities to learn more about the game of golf while meeting other youth with similar interest. Participants learned patience, composure under pressure, and self-confidence at the event. While minorities make up a very small amount of PGA golfers, events like Drive, Putt & Chip support the inclusion of everyone and provide opportunities for attendees to connect with a life-changing sport while building meaningful relationships.
